Title: Digital Transformation with Process Mining (DigPro’24) – DigPro2024
The outbreak of COVID-19 significantly impacted the global economy and has continued to alter organizational functionalities. According to McKinsey, respondents now expect that at least 80% of their consumer interactions will be digital, compared to the pre-pandemic era. Consequently, most organizations have prioritized Digital Transformation.
In response to rapidly changing customer needs and technological advancements, Digital Transformation, often underpinned by Software Engineering, has become essential for businesses in the post-COVID world.
Digital Transformation involves leveraging technology to create new and modify existing business processes, customer experiences, and organizational cultures to meet the demands of a dynamic market. This transformation extends beyond traditional software project management approaches, integrating data-driven organizational practices into automation projects, thereby providing a competitive edge. Organizations already embarked on their digital transformation journey are better positioned to survive and thrive in the new normal.
Process Transformation serves as the foundational technology for future investment and transformation projects. While Process Transformation drives process optimization, with a clear roadmap and steps for introducing technology to operationally dependent processes, business leaders can realize long-term benefits and risk investing in low-value automation initiatives.
Process Mining, situated at the intersection of Process Transformation and Data Science, combines event data with process models to gain insights, identify bottlenecks, predict problems, and optimize organizational processes. Already utilized for high-volume processes in large organizations, Process Mining is poised to become the ‘new normal’ for smaller organizations.
